Being Born again
When we have grown up and separated ourselves from our parents, we have come up with our own preconceived ideas of things. All these ideas are those that we get from our parents, playmates, and teachers, our surroundings, from all that we see, hear or gather with our senses first. Then we elaborate these with our internal senses, and formulate them with our will and mind, till we come up with what we are now. The way we behave, the way we believe, are products of what we have come up at the back of our mind. Fruits come up from what kind of tree it came from.
Apple fruit, from apple tree; Mango fruit, from mango tree. Good fruits from a good tree, and bad fruits, from a bad tree. By these phrases, what I mean is that the results we get in our everyday life are products of what we have come up in our mind. If we are not getting our life’s objective which is ‘to be happy’, then we have to review our ideas, beliefs, and attitudes. More often than not, most of us fall short of what life should really be ours. If one is already caught up in vices that is controlling his life, don’t despair. There is nothing impossible except what is contradictory. We just need to turn to the Source of life and healing. With Him all things are possible.
To be happy, we need to be like children again. But to be children again, we need to go through a kind of being born again. We were born free, not to be enslaved by anyone or anything; not to be enslaved by our vices and bad habits. Just like the song “Born free”, we were born free as the grass grows, or as the wind blows. When we get entangled in our life by our weaknesses and sinfulness, we need to turn back to the One who makes the grass grow or the wind blow to be free again. We need a kind of spiritual rebirth. Because Life is spirit and the Source of Life is spirit.
“Stop, Look, Listen!” Just like in the railroad crossing, we need to follow this sign and put it into action in our lives. Else something greater than the mishap one might be having may happen after all. With all the mishaps happening around the world at the present time, who knows that one day we might just wake up in an after-life state. How man ends, so his life thereafter, without end. When one dies in an OK status, he will be OK thereafter. The tragedy is when one ends not in an OK status. He will have missed the end purpose of life after all; and there is no end to it, as he will not die anymore. Man’s life was created in the likeness of God, a spirit, simple and indestructible by anything even by death.
Stop for a moment! as I have said earlier in the article” Key to Happiness”. Review your life; Do something to repair it if it does not conform to how it should be.
Look around and try to find the Way that one should follow. There is only one Way, the Truth that speaks to everyone’s heart.
Listen to the Word that He says to you. Shut out your ears to the clamour that this world makes to you.
